Tropical Sun Jamaican Breadfruit
Grown on the tree of the same name, Breadfruit is enjoyed right across the tropics as a staple in many cuisines. It is used as a filling and wholesome addition to tropicalise many sweet and savoury dishes. Its name is derived from the bread-like texture of the cooked inner fruit. It was traditionally baked in ground ovens or roasted over hot coals. Nowadays it is more often served baked. It can be used as an ingredient in soups and stews as well as a starch alternative to sides such as potatoes or rice.
